Cystic Fibrosis (CF)
Cystic Fibrosis (also known as CF) is a common hereditary disease which affects the entire body, causing progressive disability and often early death. The name cystic fibrosis refers to the characteristic scarring (fibrosis) and cyst formation within the pancreas, first recognized in the 1930s. Difficulty breathing is the most serious symptom and results from frequent lung infections that are treated, though not cured, by antibiotics and other medications. A multitude of other symptoms, including sinus infections, poor growth, diarrhea, and infertility result from the effects of CF on other parts of the body.
The hallmark symptoms of cystic fibrosis are salty tasting skin, poor growth and poor weight gain despite a normal food intake, accumulation of thick, sticky mucus, frequent chest infections and coughing or shortness of breath. The poor growth in children typically presents as an inability to gain weight or height at the same rate as their peers and is occasionally not diagnosed until investigation is initiated for poor growth. In June 2009, my son Timothy was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. CF is a genetic disease that affects not only pulmonary (lung) function but in many cases, affects the body's ability to absorb nutrients from food. As such, many CF patients have difficulty gaining or maintaining body weight.
Timothy did a fairly good job of maintaining his weight throughout the summer and fall. However, in November 2009, he became sick and lost 3 pounds in 3 days. While this does not seem like much, it was nearly 10% of his overall body weight. With the help of numerous doses of antibiotics, he was able to overcome his sickness, but was left at about 33 pounds by Christmas. Throughout January and February 2010, we gave him as much food and weight gain supplements as we could get him to consume. During this time, he was able to gain back just 1 pound.
In early March, he was hospitalized for 3 days with a respiratory infection. During this time, a friend of mine mentioned that he had begun using liquid egg whites from Egg Whites International. He thought that it might help Timothy to gain weight. I immediately bought them and began to use them the day he got home from the hospital. He typically takes in 1 to 1 ½ cups per day, usually in his cereal or milk. After just two weeks, we returned to the doctor. Timothy had already gained 1 ½ pounds. The doctor was truly astonished and asked us what we were doing to gain weight. We were honestly able to say that the only change we had made was to introduce Egg Whites into his daily diet.
During the three months that he had been eating egg whites from Egg Whites International, he gained 4 pounds - that's more than he gained all last year. We truly believe that his weight gain can be attributed to including egg whites in his daily diet. We have begun communicating this to others within the CF community and can only hope that others have the same great results that Timothy has seen! Endometriosis, is a debilitating medical condition in females in which endometrial-like cells appear and flourish in areas outside the uterine cavity, most commonly on the ovaries. The uterine cavity is lined by endometrial cells, which are under the influence of female hormones. These endometrial-like cells in areas outside the uterus (endometriosis) are influenced by hormonal changes and respond similarly as do those cells found inside the uterus. Symptoms often worsen in time with the menstrual cycle.
Endometriosis is typically seen during the reproductive years; it has been estimated that it occurs in roughly 5% to 10% of women. Symptoms may depend on the site of active endometriosis. Its main but not universal symptom is pelvic pain in various manifestations. Endometriosis is a common finding in women with infertility. Source: Wikipedia

Good afternoon JD,
Thanks for your time on the phone today, I really appreciate it. It is not often enough that we find something in our lives that can truly change it for the better... but that is exactly what Egg Whites International did for me, and continues to do.
I was misdiagnosed with IBS for 6 years but had extreme, Stage IV Endometriosis. I met you and Mac at the Natural Products Expo in Anaheim in 2007. Your liquid egg whites changed my life immediately. Not only did I lose weight (happy side effect) but I lost inches around my upper waist and rib cage (can you say bloat?) and I could eat again. I had to give up dairy and had to add more protein to my diet and every supplement I tried made me uncomfortable or didn't taste good. I started cooking with your liquid egg whites and added 2 or 3 pumps to my smoothie every day, sometimes 2x a day. You changed my life and the lives of many of my friends, clients, and even strangers that I've met.
Sincerely,
- Michelle Mullen

Gastroparesis
Gastroparesis, also called delayed gastric emptying, is a medical condition consisting of a paresis (partial paralysis) of the stomach, resulting in food remaining in the stomach for a longer period of time than normal. Normally, the stomach contracts to move food down into the small intestine for digestion. The vagus nerve controls these contractions. Gastroparesis may occur when the vagus nerve is damaged and the muscles of the stomach and intestines do not work normally. Food then moves slowly or stops moving through the digestive tract. For most of my life I have tried to be health conscious and have tried just about every protein powder on the market. Some were OK, most were not. I was pretty skeptical about the claim that your egg whites don't have a taste. My first drink was the pure egg whites and I have to be honest they weren't bad, but they weren't good either. I never intended on drinking them by themselves though, so I wasn't put off. My next drink was in a shake and your claims are true. I did not taste the eggs one bit. They really are fantastic. Although they are more pricey than protein powders, they are well worth it.

Gastric By-Pass Surgery
Gastric bypass procedures (GBP) are any of a group of similar operations used to treat morbid obesity — the severe accumulation of excess weight as fatty tissue and the health problems (comorbidities) it causes. Bariatric surgery is the term encompassing all of the surgical treatments for morbid obesity, not just gastric bypasses, which make up only one class of such operations.
A gastric bypass first divides the stomach into a small upper pouch and a much larger, lower "remnant" pouch and then re-arranges the small intestine to allow both pouches to stay connected to it. Surgeons have developed several different ways to reconnect the intestine, thus leading to several different GBP names. Any GBP leads to a marked reduction in the functional volume of the stomach, accompanied by an altered physiological and psychological response to food. The resulting weight loss, typically dramatic, markedly reduces comorbidities. The long-term mortality rate of gastric bypass patients has been shown to be reduced by up to 40%; however, complications are common and surgery-related death occurs within one month in 2% of patients. Protein Recovery Drink

I had to start physical therapy for a car accident and the physical therapist asked me about my protein intake. I had just come from the San Antonio Marathon and had ordered my first batch of "Egg Whites International". I started my routine with 4 pumps of egg whites with soy milk in the morning and the same in the evening. I drink low fat chocolate soy milk and with the protein it tastes like a milk shake, without all the calories. I quickly noticed a difference in my skin and hair and I recovered quite quickly from the accident. The PT told me it was the increase in protein that made all the difference.
When I began to run again, I noticed much quicker recovery time and just all over better health. I am a petite person and always wore a size 4 or 6. Since I started with the protein I seem to snack less and have lots more energy. I am able to run longer and more often. My body has changed quite a bit. I have not lost one pound but now am a perfect size 0. It really helps my knees to stay thin.
I thought it would difficult to drink the egg whites, but with no taste and my chocolate milk, it's as if I'm having a snack. I think this is one of the best things I've ever done for my health and would highly recommend it for anyone who doesn't get enough protein in their diet. Now I don't worry when I skip meals and such. I am such a poor eater, but I never get sick. I am healthier than I've ever been.
